Road Trip Snacks

This past month I have spent nearly every friday and saturday night in a car driving around the country. Ive been attending University open days, however, the closest uni I've applied to is two hours away.

Ive found a few ways to pass the time, my main one is eating. The other is shouting aggressively at bad drivers. Here's a bunch of my favourite road trip snacks:

1. Doritos - those packs that are like 20% bigger are the best. Any flavour, maybe lots of flavorous, you could mix it up. Thats a decent meal in itself.

2. Oreos - Ive found that I can get really stressed at other drivers on these long trips and I end up eating comfort food to make me feel better. Also, Oreos tend to soften the blow of finding out that you are going to be sat in traffic for the next 3 hours because you decided to drive to Swansea on the night of the Six Nations match in Cardiff.

3. Pringles - Prefect for making a fool of yourself in traffic as you are pretending to be a duck and find theres a van full of fairly attractive contractors next to you and they are all looking and laughing.

4. McDonalds - Im sorry, but if you don't stop for McDonalds and some point then its not a road trip and also you need to sort your life out. The great thing about McDonalds is that no matter where you are, or what country you're in, your order is always the same, for me its a double cheeseburger, with medium fries and a diet coke.

5. Diet Coke in excess - personal to me, I don't like the taste of full fat coke, however, you definitely need some sort of carbonated drink in bulk if you are even attempting motorways. I always take those packs of six cans.

6. Skittles - or any non-meltable sweet. Skittles are my favourite. It can't be chocolate, because chocolate tends to melt in cars.

7. Monster - Or any other energy drink. To keep you AWAKE! (Drive safely, and if you are tired take a break, don't think energy drinks will actually keep you awake, this is more for passengers)

8. Cheesecake - this was discovered on my last road trip, when my mum and I stopped at a service station and there was a Waitrose, where they have packs of cheesecake with two slices. It was the best thing in the whole world in that moment, because we had been eating utter crap.

9. Gum - Not a food, but after some of these snacks smelly breath can be an issue.

10. An apple - same reason and the cheesecake, kind of. When you get out of the car and you haven't stood up in a few hours, the only thing that could make that moment better is something health. And a water cleanse.
