Top Ten Films of my Chidlhood

1. Peter Pan

Jeremy Sumpter as Peter Pan is gorgeous, I don't care if he was 12 when he made it and that makes it weird for me to say that he's super duper pretty but damn girl look at that face. Just watch it, you'll fall in love.

2. Toy Story

This film brings back so many memories of my childhood. So many tears and laughs. The whole idea of it was incredible to me as a child. As if my toys came alive when I wasn't with them. That was so cool! The first one is the best, they go downhill from there. It's sad really that they tried.

3. The Lizzie McGuire Movie

Don't judge me, its a good film. You can't go wrong with a bit of Lizzie McGuire! And omg that song at the end will be in your head for a good month afterwards.

4. Daddy Day Care

Possibly one of the funniest films ever made, my 7 year old self would literally cry with laughter whenever watching this film.

5. Shark Tale

This is Will Smith at his best, ladies and gentlemen. If you don't think this is the best fucking thing in the world then you are wrong. They are fish, at a car wash. Theres a shark, who dresses as a dolphin and tells his dad not to hate on his life choices!! Come on!!!

6. Cinderella

A classic. I used to buy all the Barbie Cinderella's and Prince Charming's and pretend it was me and god it was awful. I had a machine thing, where you could prop each doll up and it would make them spin and dance, and I didn't think that technology could get any cooler. However, I'm typing this on a macbook pro so it's clear that I soon found cooler stuff in the world. Still, cinderella.

P.S. Any Cinderella spin off type things are also really cool e.g.  A Cinderella Story with Hilary Duff - super cool.

7. Shrek

When I first watched Shrek as a child, I was a little bit indifferent. It was cute at first and it was cool that there was a talking donkey and the fair tale creatures were pretty awesome, but honestly I didn't see what all the fuss was about. Then I watched it again at the age of 16 and suddenly IT ALL MADE SENSE!! The references, the cheeky "you think he's compensating for something" the innuendo's, the Starbucks and the Burger King references. OMG MY MIND WAS BLOWN OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!

8. 10 Things I Hate About You

This is another one of those films that I watched because it was on, and then I went back to when I was a bit older and realised was actually a really good film. First of all, the gorgeous Heath Ledger! The equally gorgeous Julia Stiles. I would watch the film just to hear Heath Ledger sing.

9. Mean Girls

I couldn't even pick my favourite picture for this one, they were all just too brilliant. The brilliancy of this film is that this is exactly what girls are like just on a bitchier level. Girls are manipulative and awful at school and god it's just so funny. You'll laugh, you'll cry.

But in all seriousness. Where do we stand with the reunion? Is it happening, isn't it? Because yes please. Very much yes with the reunion please!

10. Harry Potter

It had to be in there, I grew up reading the books, and then when the films started coming out it was the best thing for child me. Also, I think the beautiful thing about these films is that the viewers grow with the films, kind of. Not in the actual sense but in the sense that as the viewership matures so do the films. With the Warner Bros. seal at the start of all the films, slowly going from gold to silver to rusty with Voldemorts returning power. So clever.

Good films and good books.

BONUS !!!

Monsters Inc.

I remember going to the cinema and being super excited about this film about monsters, and I went on a Saturday morning to one of those kids clubs where they play a few games and stuff before the film, and it's all kids and you leave your mum at the door. I won a prize in one of the games and I didn't think my day could get any better, until at the end of the film Sully and Mike came in the cinema and waved all the kids out and I got a hug from Sully and since that moment he has been my favourite character.

The only reason this was a bonus and not an actual thing is because I like the brand not just the first film. And I know the newest movie only came out recently. But how clever is that! As the original audience is preparing to go off the university, they release Monsters University!!! Seriously?! I don't know if that was planned or a coincidence but omg it's incredible. Hats off to whoever thought of that cos wow!!
